Spikes of light and nights of sight
here comes a light here to override
my secluded night how could you invite
the outside onto my pallid
unprotected side
you have no idea this was such a
hard earned right
now bringing strength to darkness
I am painful in a brand new white

twigs that haunt my dreams, twigs that
announce into a visual plain with birch voices, I
dare you to carry on the same
when you have felt the blue branches
sprout into your brain

You stretched out into a street with night full in bloom
there was a serene confidence that did not know the feel of gravel and the acidic shadows of doorways;
rooms will impose their walls on streets that to you yawn decadently into freedom
you will get to a point in your fluid roaming
when your face will collide with an unseen wall
(a vision in between smiling street lamps)
and it will look clear, space will look
open and tantalising still – for your taking -
but when you reach out your hand you will feel
a transparent touch of textured wallpaper

turn back
oh, those outlined, incredulous eyes
say it
all these twigs that haunt my dreams, all these
twigs, they haunt my dreams

So why did you bring that white to me? Oh you
knew not how to split and store your self in cupboards
this is a
dramatic hoard
and there are selves of me that you are not good for
